Where I stayed
Barkcamp State Park
Only once did Tully ask "how much longer." I showed Parker to read the GPS and answer the question for himself. Just 306 miles (through MD, WV, PA, WA, and OH) and a couple of naps later (abt 7:10pm) we arrived in Belmont Ohio at the Barkcamp Lake Park (www.dnr.state.oh.us/parks/parks/barkcamp/tabid/713/Default.aspx) ...which is part of the Ohio State Park system. After we set up camp, we left for an adventure back down the camp road through the RVs and campers parked away from the "tent only" area where we were lone ducks.
Parker & Tully took off on their scooters leaving me in their dust. They are very good on these and I can't understand their fear of riding bikes when they speed easily up and down hills on scooters. The boys quickly made some new friends and played a fierce game of glow stick/flashlight tag till 10pm.
Day One was a 100% success...the only thing we knew we forgot was sausage. .
