Thursday 18th Sept:
Conall, Andrew, Chris (Agnes's brother) and I picked up our tuxedos and set off for the Mariott hotel in New Jersey. We quickly did the practise wedding at the church and then the whole wedding party had a beautiful meal. I got a very nice Kenneth Cole watch as a present from Conall and Agnes. (NOTE TO RICARDO : People in the wedding party get really nice presents!) I joked that I could get a few dollars for it by pawning it in Bangkok.

We went back to the hotel and had a few whiskeys before the bar closed. I must have been a bit pissed coz I ended up ordering Terminator 3 at 1:30am in the hotel room. It cost me 15 dollars! Predictably I fell asleep halfway through. Damn! It seemed alright...

Friday 19th Sept:
Hurricane Isabel failed to hit us. We had a sunny day of about 80 degrees and the wind was only around 20 miles an hour. While Andrew and I were waiting for the guests he was fiddling with his tux pants. He broke the fastener and I laughed for about 10 minutes. We had visions of him walking down the aisle with his pants falling down. Luckily for him the priest found a safety pin that just about did the job. The ceremony went smoothly and was beautiful and we all cried in happiness etc etc.

The party after the wedding was magnificent. The food was really really good. I'll be dreaming of it in the hungry days to come. There was a free bar from 7 o'clock to 1 so I had a few as you can imagine. I stayed off the dance floor till the very end as I was wary of the video camera. Past experience of weddings has thought me that much! Andrew moved in on a girl that I was chatting up and ruined everything for me (Just kidding Andrew!). Neither of us scored anyway.

The night ended with me making a tit of myself singing Irish rebel songs on the bus back to the hotel.

Saturday 20th Sept:
In the evening we went to Agnes's family's house to experience some Polish hospitality. I must say I've eaten more red meat in this country than I have in the last 5 years! I had a few drinks and got talking to a woman who's son had just returned from Iraq. It was interesting to hear the soldier's side of the story as it's not something you hear much in Ireland. Afterwards Conall told me she was just a crazy old drunk that lived down the road who had gone nuts since her son had gone there. I didn't stay too long as I had an early start in the morning. Next stop Clearwater Beach, Florida.
