We were planning to set up camp in Jonesport and visit the Great Wass Island nature conservancy and Machias. However, the campground seemed a little too basic (we really needed a hot shower!) and it was almost impossible to reach. Jonesport's only restaurant Tall Barney's was closed and that made us decide to continue to Machias and sample the famous lobster at Helen's restaurant Machias also hosts the only disputed piece of land between Canada and the US Machias Seal Island and there is Jasper Beach a beach entirely made up of Jasper stones. We had really wanted to see that but unfortunately ran out of time and because all the motels were fully booked we ended up going back to Bangor to spend the night! This is were we found out that the boys are not allowed to share a room in the motel so we ended up taking a family room.
