Ten years ago my wife and I lived in China for a year as we taught English at a teachers' college in Shijiazhuang. I was hoping to come back someday to catch up on what's happening in this vibrant country. Now, it has become a reality as my colleague Carolyn Ho and I prepare to leave for China on Friday to visit several colleges. We hope to build partnerships and exchange programs for Cy-Fair College with Chinese institutions . We are fortunate that our college district NHMCCD awarded us a grant to fund the trip.

China is going through some rapid changes as it experiences the industrial revolution and information age at the same time. I am eager to see the changes that ten years have brought. I will be traveling to Shanghai, Suzhou and Wuxi. I spent about six days in Shanghai and Suzhou on my first trip to China.
