Hope everybody had a great weekend!
The weather here lately has been rather exceptional. This is especially true when compared to the central Red River Valley, which I heard got a foot and a half of snow. I guess I can't complain! It's been in the low to mid forties here during the day, and the only snow left is by the side of the road and in shaded places.
My weekend was quite relaxing. A few hundred feet from the dorms is a lake which we took to on Thursday and Friday. We borrowed a small boat, found some oars, and hit the lake. Being among the woods and away from traffic, the water was calm and quiet
On Saturday, Ashley and I finally caught (after multiple tries earlier in the semester) the tour bus that travels around the Moss area. We didn't go to all the stops (it was a hop-on, hop-off style tour), but we did get to visit an interesting place on the island, Jeloy. It was a heritage farm-like thingy in the country side. It had, among other things, a glass blowing shop, which was really cool. A short walk down the road were a ceramics shop (it was pretty sad) and a antiques shop. The antiques shop was awesome. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of the inside.
It seems like we did more this weekend, but for the life of me, I can't think of anything else right now.
This coming weekend, on either Friday or Saturday, we may take another trip up to Oslo to do some more sightseeing. A week from tomorrow, on the 5th of April, about 7 or 8 of us from the college are going to Costa del Sol in southern Spain. We get back the following Tuesday, I have a full day of class on Wednesday, and then Ashley and I are off to Italy for eight days to visit Elisa Doz (a former Hillsboro HS exchange student). It's going to be a crazy two and a half weeks
Trivia Time! (no cheating!)
1) When did Norway become an independent country?
2) What was the #1 selling American music act of the 1970s?
Hope you all have a stupendous week!
