Hey hey!!
I'm in Duncannon, PA and it's great to be here! Last night was a CRAZY t-storm. Rain was coming into the shelter practically, high winds, and big lightning bolts at the same time as the thunder, meaning the storm was on top of us! Being on the ridgeline, not the best of places... At least it was In a nice shelter though.

In the morning I was going to try to hike in to town (11mi) before ten o'clock, but because of the rain and obviously wet and dangerous rocks, I nixed that plan and slept in the extra hour.

The hike in wasn't bad and included some wet field walking (nothing soaks shoes like wet grass!) and a couple of nice views. I was in Duncannon by eleven. I'm staying at the Doyle Hotel which is 105 yrs old and one of the original Anheuser Busch hotels. It is run down but very cheap. While I could have stayed in a nice place I wanted to show my friend Chris the authentic hiker experience!!

So I shower and do laundry before Chris arrives from MI in the afternoon.. Luckily he was good and hungry after his long drive and we get a bunch of food down the street.

In the evening we check maps, catch up, visit the grocery store, and have a beer in the first floor bar. Chris also brought me some permetherin so I treat my clothes trying to exactly follow the directions and leave that out on the porch to settle.

We are both tired so that'll make it easier to sleep on the cheap springy beds.
Catch ya later!!
