Hello,
Fun AT lingo: NOBO (heading NOrth BOund)
GAMER (GA to ME er)
SOBO (heading SOuthBOund)
MEGA (heading ME to GA)
AYCE (all you can eat)

Whew that's it for now. When we were up in the Smokies with the spring breakers we'd be talking amongst ourselves using the lingo and they would ask us what it all meant all the time,( so figured before I start using the lingo too much I'd clue you all in)

Today we were a little sluggish heading out of town. I made one last little pit stop at the outfitters and then we hit the trail. The first couple of miles were along the main street and the French Broad River, the lowest point on the trail so far!  Then the trail took a sharp left and climbed back up to the altitudes we know and love. The packs are heavy after resupply, but the day in all is easy. We have lunch on top of Rich Mtn near a fire tower. Tried to eat a lot. Food weighs less in your stomach than on your back.

We pass "On the Loose" slackpacking in the opposite direction, and meet up with "Roughin It, Aikido Jo, and Beefstick" and we all hike together to the shelter. We got in at 3:30 and having done 11 miles we feel like slackers and talk about pressing on, but end up settling in.  Seems like it's going to be a cold night, so I'll be snuggled into my sleeping bag dreaming of candy and other fun stuff!
