Good evening all!
Good long 12 mile hike from Blue Mtn over a couple tough 1000 to 1500 ft climbs. At Unicoi Gap Dwayne and Linda were doing some glorious trail magic. They had Oreos, chips, pop, biscuits and gravy, and bananas. It was pure power for the next mtn. Much thanks to them and all the awesome people that help out the hikers.

Also met some mobile magic makers, they were hiking with apples (carrying about 30 of them to give out) so cool!  Tray mtn was tough but the view from the summit was gorgeous! There was even a little packed down snow under the trail.

Lunch was at Tray mtn shelter where we ran into a bunch of boy scouts that were really moving! Wow makes me feel old. In sassafras gap area for the night.  We have a fire going and there's 5 of us, including a guy, Birdy, from Ypsilanti.  Tomorrow should be in to town, so if u want to chat with me, let me know and I'll try to find time to give you a call.

Still no rain... Wondering when that is going to start. The saying is "no rain, no pain, no Maine" I've got the pain. My heels are all blistered, I'm thinking they'll just be nasty until they callous over. But I'll get new socks in Hiawasee to see if that helps.
Hope y'all are having a nice weekend. Good night

Oh, bummer on the bad heels. Hope they are getting less and less painful, but I kinda doubt it. That trail magic is amazing! I can't believe how many times you have run across it already. People are really good, aren't they?! Keep on keepin' on. You give me motivation to get up and do something -- a lot of things, rather!
Hugs, Yvie
