So after a taxi ride a plane ride another taxi ride a quick bite to eat on bridge of sighs another taxi ride another plane ride and a car journey 26 hours after leaving Cuzco we arrive in Capilla del Monte...and it is not as good as we had hoped..a bit arid and barren we think..

the place we stayed was a cabana at the edge of town, it was spacious 2 bedrooms and lounge diner and we had a very friendly reception..we chilled out for the afternoon then went off to find our bearings... capilla has only a few tarmaced roads, like being back in Peru, so it takes a while to get anywhere , the tracks are bumpy full of large stones/rocks and uneven... we did find the town and it is quite cute with most of what you may need.. the obligatory plaza and two supermarcado s and a very popular food mall all covered in from the heat of the sun..so we bought some supplies and headed back to our cabana...

the next day we ventured in the car to supposedly find the lake and came across los mogates... an area of picnicing, bbq s and a cute river winding through a large rocky outcrop..we had a super walk exploring the area and ended up on another of "Robins climb"s, up the rock face between a crevice over a waterfall and over the river on stepping stones..very interesting..!!

home for tea, at last a nice home made concoction sitting outside in the cool evening breeze..and watching our first argentinian sunset...

the next day we were moving again..i could not get a cabana for 2 weeks so we had to stay there for the first few days..and somewhere else for the other 10..we packed and left, alone, the lady had gone to cordoba and left us to lock up and leave the key...interesting..!!

our new place was very welcoming much more modern but much smaller with no oven and only 2 rings ...grrrrrrrr..!!..swimming pool, jacuzzi and lovely gardens though..and at the base of the mountain Uritorco at a mere 6000ft..so we settled in for the day and had another short walk round town for more supplies..

a very good start to the Capilla experience..
