sunday in santiago seemed reasonably quiet.

not too much traffic very good metro ..one of the best in the world apparently..a walk around the centre and along the streets with all the diplomatic buildings in all very interesting and lovely architecture...it was amazing to see many sleeping dogs..which we let lie...hehe..all just asleep in the middle of the pavement... what do they get up at night....???

then we found the area known as mercado where the famous fish market is.. the metal roof was made in birmingham to replicate billingsgate/smithsfields market in london and built about 1860s... it was amazing, lots of stalls with hundreds of different  fish being sold, shouting and selling.. loads of people and around the edge was a mixture of restuarants all using the fresh fish... from posh to almost back street cafes ...and they try sooo hard to get you in to eat with them ...high competition..we did not stay as we are not that keen on fish..!! but great to see..

bella vista was the next stop totally different..new, modern based on covent garden outside restuarants all modern arty clean and very very busy.. we ate there..

then we went up in the funicular train up cerro de christobel to get a magnificent view over the city...another superb day..
