I spent a few rather uneventful days in Granada just relaxing and visiting some of the city sites.  Granada is the old conservative strong hold of Nicaragua and has seen significant investment recently.  It was one of the first showcase citites the Spanish built  in Central America.  The old churchs are very nice and have been recently renovated and the city is excellent for strolling around.
I visited some of the churches and a museum housing a good collection of pre-colonial stone carvings.  I was walking around the city and I asked a girl where the ¨Polvora Fortress¨ was and she showed me the old fortress which has excellent views of the city and the surrounding mountains.  She was a university student studying tourism and she was happy to show me several sites around the city and we hung out for most of the day.  That was pretty fun.
I took some pictures around the city but I was eager to get to Leon so after two quick days in Granada I hopped on a bus and split.
