Despite my lack of sleep, the morning started out pretty good. I got off the bus and went straight to tailgateing. It was just insane to see so many people dressed in either blue/orange or purple/gold. I've always had fun at LSU home games, but damn, its kinda rough to be on the other side. There was plenty of strangers trash talking, and I'm not sure if it was on pourpose or not, but while bike riding through campus in my purple/gold colors, some guy kicked a gatoraide bottle right into my tire. I guess it could have been an accident, but it sure was an accurate accident.
As we approached the stadium to enter, you could hear cheering coming from within the stadium. Suprising it was L S U being cheered far louder than FU, ooops, I mean UF. It was just unbelieveably intense! But it really killed the moment when I had to change into an orange shirt so I could get into the student section without someone asking for my ID. What a bummer. As soon as I was in, I ran to the bathroom and changed back.
Another unusual feeling...being stuck in the middle of the UF student section while wearing the wrong colors. Talk about getting some stares. And then when LSU intercepted and scored first, and we were the only ones cheering, well...lets just say things were a little ackward. But things evened up and the first half turned out to be a great game. Then it all just went to pot. By the end of the game, well there wasn't much to be said. After talking trash all day, now the only reply I could give was, GO SAINTS!! WHO DAT GONNA BEAT THEM SAINTS! Usually that gave me enough time to get away.
