9/10/07 Day 71
Today we travelled into the Czech Republic to a town called Trutnov just across the boarder near the alps. it's a cold day but the roads were gratefully uneventful and we arrive in the afternoon. Having no currency we headed off to find a bank and the shops, we get out 2000 Zakona and only get 2 notes, the problem is we have no idea what the exchange is, and can only guess. We do the shopping for just over 1000z and wonder if it was a bargain or not, desperately trying to work out what we think fuel will cost and what its advertised. Only when we get back we find its 40z to the pound, so shopping was incredibly cheap, to the extent Rob wishes to go back!! I make coleslaw (P.I.T.A) and a potatoes salad and its 12 degrees but without a breeze so Robs outside doing a BBQ. The campsite was difficult to find but is a nice site, large, no one around except one other large caravan with no lights... no one home I presume. Tomorrow we are going to visit the town as its apparently a great example of Czech centres so we will see.
10/10/07 Day 72
Rob - washing day today, but the German woman wont relinquish control of the dryer so Jenn is fuming, staring out of the window and scowling). (JENN- in my defence we are totally out of clothes, Rob has no knickers (day 2 for today's garments) and is down to his last shirt so its make or break time. Rob is not sure how this happened, obviously I haven't been looking after him properly, which is one of his favourite catch phases. So 4 loads of washing, one dryer, charged by the hour, and its 14 degrees so not the best weather for drying. Washing really has become a obsession of mine, it's a war, you have to focus and be ruthless with all your competitors, this is not about making friends people, this is about survival of the fittest).
Victory at last for Jennie as I have finally relented and allowed her to have access to the heater, this is due to the clothing crisis, we look silly in just jumpers and shorts (I think this was Jennies plan all along!!). We didn't manage to get into the local town except for the shopping trip as the priority was for Jenn to get the washing done - it may appear that I am a slave driver, but when the lav breaks down I have my hand in the socket fixing it so don't feel too bad.
