The road to Walpole was testing at times, being a little bit narrow and windy. The Rest Point Holiday Village is situated right on the inlet of Walpole. A great spot if you have a boat as they have their own boat ramp. We caught up with Ian and Julian and Ian took me fishing for the day, we ended up with 20 King George whiting and 18 or so herring between us, so a couple of good feeds. A great thing about Walpole is the small distances between the forests and the ocean, we got in a lot of sightseeing without traveling to far. The tree walk and Red Tingle forests were fantastic. The Red Tingle can be as old as 400 years and grow as tall as the Karri but the trunks can be as large as 23 or 24 metres around the base. The Tree Top Walk was equally as impressive as the forests, being 40 metres (130 feet) above the ground. It does sway and bounce a little but that was part of the experience and you do get a birds eye view of the forest canopy. Other attractions that were impressive were Elephant Rocks and Green Pool it was a pity when we did Green Pool it was an overcast day and the colours weren't the best but well worth the visit. Also Eco trip on WOW charters is a great way to learn the history of Walpole.

Choco & Narelle on

Looks like the trip is still an adventure of a lifetime. Sorry we haven't been keeping up to date with your travels as much as we would like to but, what with Christmas, New Years, having a houseful of guests, the Big 50 party AND Paris, I just haven't had time - getting back to normal and in the swing of things again now though.
