Bags to the bus at 830. This was the start of the day and after another awesome breakfast we were off to Prague! I sat with Jonathon from Perth and we watched the German countryside roll by. The group stopped at Dresden for lunch, an absolutely beautiful town that was almost levelled by the Allies at the end of WWII. A big group of us went to another german restaurant and had, you guessed it, sausage! The buildings around the square were stunning and a perfect backdrop to the tasty lunch!

Our Contiki group is a really intersting group of people. I thought at first that 51 people in a group would be too much, but actually because there are so many people you find lots of different smaller groups to do things with around each town. Of course, there are some people you would never hang out with as you dont have much in common, and a few people who you spend quite a bit of time with. My contiki crew consists of Renata from Winnipeg, Yolanda and Mel from Adelaide, Katie and Ellen from Saskatoon, Wendy and Jack from Sydney, Jonathon, and Rachelle and Brandon from LA. There are heaps more, but those seem to be the ones I spend the most time with. We hopped back on the bus and it was on to Prague.

We stopped in at the Ibis Hotel in Prague quickly to drop our bags then headed up to mountain to visit the massive Castle, wherebour local guide met us and told us lots of neat information about the city of Prague. Mercifully the cit escaped most of the war so the centuries old buildings remain intact and stunning to behold. The church at the castle took almost a century to build and is reflective of three different achitecture styles. We strolled down the winding streets to the central square where a group of us broke off to grab a quick drink before dinner. We sat in view of the clock tower which was a marvel in technology at the time. The whole group headed over to our included dinner, which was not that good except for the dessert, then everyone went back to the hotel for an early evening and chit chats in our room. I am lookin forward to exploring Prague more tomorrow...

We certainly recognize that clock tower (watch out for pickpockets!) and the yummy guards! We loved Prauge...you will enjoy it immensely! Sorry your meal wasn't up to snuff, but that's touring for you! But at least the beer is outstanding...pilsner originated not far from Prauge, in Pilsen! Have fun...! Love, Mom and Dad
