It was time to start heading south as we were meeting old work friends of Brad's who were going to be in Prague in a week's time, something we had organised before we left Australia.  2000km to go, but we planned to stop and do more stuff on the way down.

We opted to go down the east side of Estonia, by the shores of Lake Peipsi.  Smoked fish again is the specialty on this massive lake which is more like an inland sea, so we stopped by and carried on south to the town of Tartu, so Karen could get her hair repaired after Brad's hair chopping debacle.  But.....we finally did get to see a moose...and pretty big and fat they are too.  One happy Brad - tick!

A lovely little town in itself, Brad had hours (yes, hours and hours) to spare and did ALL the tourist attractions while Karen sat with rolls of aluminium foil on her head, reading English mags with fresh coffee on tap.

So in terms of our highly scientific survey, we're grouping the Baltics all together, so here goes:

Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia do a good:  HOT HOT HOT looking chick (but Riga really is in a class of its own!), brightly coloured wooden house, flower garden, apple tree (they're absolutely everywhere and chockers hanging down to the ground), horse and cow in front yard (as you do!), dog on a rope, mushroom, capital city, beach (give Oz a run for their money, if only it ever got warm enough to swim in them), National Park and pine forest (you could never recreate that smell in a can of Glade), smoked fish, mud, currency (gotta love a latvian Lat and a Lithuanian Lita), helpful and friendly person, Amber

And what it doesn't do well.......................again slightly biased but we couldn't really find anything!
