We wound our way around headlands into the capital, Tallinn.  What a fairytale city.  The city is just chockers with enchanting cobbled streets, and like Riga, full of trendy bars and cafes.  We arrived again on a Saturday late afternoon (timing is everything, but really, every night's like a Saturday night for us now!) and headed straight for this great place in Old Town - a bar and restaurant done up just like a medieval tavern.  Staff in peasant garb, traditional medieval music, traditionally brewed herb and honey beers in ceramic tankards, elk jerky for beer snacks - just great and not tacky at all.  We sat outside with rugs over our knees, and some mulled wine in hand, overlooking the old streets.

Then we wandered the alleys, dropping into a mini brewery and a few other bars for some refreshments, and had another great night.  There's one little bar (the Depeche Mode Bar) which plays nothing but old Depeche Mode tracks, and is decked out like their album covers - strange but great for a laugh.  We even saw a copycat Depeche Mode bar round the corner - surely a bar themed on an old 80s band would be a limited market????

Even during the day Tallinn is just made for wandering and people watching and we spent a couple of days just doing that..............unfortunately we spent another day driving round industrial estates trying to get someone to fill our gas bottles, but we won't dwell on that!  Nor will we mention the hours and days wasted by being stuffed around by our tenants in Monk St (will they renew, won't they - just totally useless).  But thanks to great help from some friends and family in Perth, we're back on track, the house is with an agent on the hunt for some hopefully semi-organised tenants.
