By far one of the most gorgeous and pictureque towns we visited was MONDSEE in Austria. It's by the lake and surrounded by the Alps. We liked it so much we spent 3 days there catching up on rest (more so for Tony as he's been driving all day!), enjoying the great food and wine and soaking up the fresh alpine air and sun!

We also met an amazing man, Franz, who at 86, had driven himself from Germany to holiday for a week in Mondsee. He spoke little English and we spoke little German. But we had a pretty good conversation over wine.
