Glen:

So occasionally it seems Cliffy and I have days that never end...... and whilst we had a great day leaving Sturgis via Devils Tower, The Spotted Horse - it was a long hot and thirsty ride through Wyoming. What a state of contrasts....on one hand we were looking at rolling hills, rivers and ravines and on the other hand we were watching the oil pumps continuing their up and down serenade as silent sentinels of the landscape followed by large open cut coal mines that sliced through the landscape. Relief was finally in sight as we got off the county/state roads and rolled into Ranchester, WY. Here we had a quick break, wet ourselves down in the rest room to utilse the 'old fashioned' airconditioning that a bike provides, downed about three energy drinks each and pressed on for the ride we had been looking forward to - Little Big Horn and Big Horn National Forest.

Not long after leaving Ranchester, WY we began our climb up into the Big Horn forest.....after about 6 hourse of flat, dry heat it was refreshing to suddenly get a view and feel the temperature drop. The video does the best story telling, rolling peaks followed by craggy outcrops and topped with a jaw-dropping descent......

Stoked with our run, the adrenaline only remained for so long - as by the time our route into Billings, MT was complete - we were spent. It had been a 10+ hour day with over 440 miles on the clock (~700km) - but bugs, heat, wind and the elements all take their respective toll when you ride. Needless to say, our arrival at Billings, was a quick check-in, Dominos Pizza and a bottle of red from the local petrol station...... I wouldn't change a thing.

Last comment was cut a bit short - while we certainly enjoy living, we are enjoying living your trip through your blog. Keep up the good work and enjoy yourselves.

Thanks Leonie and Wally really appreciate the comments. We enjoy keeping it current as it will also allow us to remember the trip properly in the years ahead. See you towards the end of the month or early Sept. Cheers Cliff
