From Glen:

Short entry....

Farewelled the Iron Horse Hotel....woke up at 6am, rode 505 miles in a straight line.... West

Cornfields
Wind Turbines
Cornfields
Straight roads
Cornfields
Wide open spaces
Wind Turbines (they started to creep me out towards the end)

Arrived Brandon, SD where we were treated to a fantastic Thunderstorm and Electrical storm about 40mins after arriving.

Steakhouse next door, half a cow consumed.....each....washed down with a beer, each.
Home, bed.

Tomorrow (Saturday 4th August) we are off to Deadwood, South Dakota. About 450 miles with some of the scenery we plan to see along the way

From Cliff
As Glen said a long hot Higway day.  Only issue was when Glen very nearly ran out of petrol and we found a little petrol station off the highway near some old railway tracks. (just like in the show 'Corner Gas') We filled up and the guy said that it had not rained for over two months and hoped we would bring them some luck.  While eating dinner we watched on the tv this massive thunder storm approaching Brandon and had a laugh.  About an hour later the heavens opened up and the lightning show was amazing, we stood at the front of the hotel with a group of people and enjoyed the show. Getting up at 05.15 tomorrow so hit the sack fairly early.
