Day 16

Left Port Augusta at last. Travelling towards Ceduna . Passed through Iron Knob  an Iron minning town. Ore was mined here and transported by rail  to Whyalla in the early days now it goes by road .

When we stopped for the night at Iron Knob rest area #2 . We were just settling into getting tea whe these two rather large trucks pulled in next to us .They were carrying two Train Engines that were made in Qld and bound for Perth . They camped the night with us they were accompanied by six escort Vehicles.

Day 17

Up early as the trucks left at 6.30am  travelled to Kimba our first stop of the day
Kimba is the home of the big Galah  (No not Dave)  Kimba is a grain growing area.

along the way we encounted a dust storm the wind was so stong nearl blew us off the road  then it started to rain .Dust and water  creates Mud.
Stopped in Wudinna to see the sculpture of the Australian Farmer . This sculpture was caved from Granite by  Marijan Bekie and depicts the settlement of the the upper reaches of the Eyre Peninsula.
