Great sandy beaches unlike most of Greece	Crashing waves, gentle breeze, birds chirping	Rough water but enjoyable swimming	Forested island & coves remind me of Mallorca
Tourism is no. 1 industry on island	Ferry from mainland only $4.50!	Northernmost Greek island; 12th largest by area	Will you eat my backpack while I'm swimming??
Nice little apartment in heart of town	Forested Thassos such a contrast to Cyclades	Good mix of tourists & locals; real Greece	Settlement from 7th c. BC at Aliki Beach
Marble is famed for bright white color	Island popular with Greek & Bulgarian families	Takes skill not to deluge the bathroom	You can always tell where fishing is big
Bus takes forever on narrow, windy roads	High season only from mid-July to end of August	Lots of kids enjoying their summer break	These steps are going to cause problems
Didn't see anyone get a gift from seagulls	2km long Golden Beach from bus	Aliki Beach on southeast corner of island	Lots of fish but clarity not as good as Croatia
Ancient forum in Thassos Town	Thassos is name of main town & island	Paradise Beach not just on Mykonos	Ancient settlers mined gold & marble here
Ancient theater isn't getting any TLC	Thassos Town was spread out based on ruins	Can see why island is so popular with Greeks
