Town is UNESCO World Heritage Site	Symmetrical layout common design element	Print of room from Casa del Labrador	Fish and ducks are fighting over bread!
Area known for strawberries & asparagus	Hardly any tourists but festival this weekend	Same architect here as at El Escorial	A lone black swan with dozens of ducks
Small palace known for fancy billiard room	Public transit not very tourist-friendly	Say 'orange juice' fast - Aranjuez	Palace is next to Tagus River
Very few of the fountains actually had water	Bourbon monarchy in 18th c. saw peak of town	Palace had some really incredible rooms	Gardens-Spains most important of Habsburg era
No photos allowed inside again	Most fountains from 17th century	Town is only 48 km south of Madrid	Had 19th c. dumbbells covered in velvet!
Seems like royal family was never in Madrid	Gardens planted to keep dust away from palace	Much less religious than El Escorial	Boat museum showed royals travelled in style
First Spanish train was Madrid-Aranjuez(1851)	These are largest fenced gardens in Europe	Just read Michener's Texas-outstanding	It was just me and a pigeon
Liked this palace better than El Escorial	Gardens originally laid out almost 500yrs ago	Thousands of giant plane trees line gardens	Concerto de Aranjuez brought fame to town
Riches from America financed ritzy palaces	My expensive new orthotics are coming apart	Didn't realize labrador meant worker	Plane trees will soon be a riot of color
Ornate Casa del Labrador built by Charles IV	The umbrella trees have a majestic beauty	Nowhere to get a haircut around here	Sections of the gardens needed more TLC
