Affordable items at small market but junk
Antibes has all the charm that Cannes lacks
Cacti were all over town in great displays
Can't get used to the siesta hours;not just Spain
Church built in 11th c.;facade from 18th c
City bought castle in 1926;invited Picasso 1946
City walls across harbor to fort
Even the Shell store is a boutique!
Food market was popular with local items
Fortified walls date from 10th century
French still smoking like chimneys
Home of famous poet from Antibes
Keyboards are different in every country; ugh
Largest yachting harbor in Europe
Lots of posh villas but hidden by walls & flora
Museum was closed for holiday
Narrow building attracted my attention
Off and on showers didn't help photos
Original 11th c. Church of Immaculate Conception
Pebbly beach here but sand beach nearby
Picasso stayed 6 months;left all paintings
Roman Empire fell in 476;long period of barbarians
Romans called town Antipolis
Romans ruled for 500 years;much remains from then
Romans took advantage of good natural harbor
Sister city is Newport Beach,CA (Lindsey's)
Someone with bigger yacht crashes party
Such a picturesque town with lots of charm
They are already raking leaves here!
Thought city was great;far better than Cannes
Town is between Nice and Cannes;better than either
Town just 25 minutes by train from Cannes
Town needs to ban cars;just traffic problems
Town population is 75,000;more than I expected
Town revived in mid19th c. when rich built villas
Town very quaint with lots of character
Town was annexed by the Romans in 43BC
Unique stores;not over-priced luxury boutiques
