All to common sight throughout Marseille	Amazing story of survival for pine tree	Approach to train station scary w/heavy luggage	Arriving by train, town did not look promising
Basilica of Notre Dame de Gard	Cave paintings date back about 20000 years	Chamber of Commerce occupies old Bourse	City built in crescent between mountains&coast
City has largest port in France	City is loud, busy and immigrant-rich	City looks more like Turkey or Morocco than France	City was setting for the film Bourne Identity
City will look better as 2013 gets closer	Eglise des Reformes church near my hotel	Excavations near train station date to 6000 BC	Familiar street right next to the beach
Fresh cola Mentos just didn't sound good	Gorgeous sunsets lessened by bad camera	Great name although they spelled Hola wrong	Hotel close to train station;large room w/tv

No gambling at Casino;it's supermarket chain	North of city are beautiful calenques, like fjords	Opera anchors end of nice pedestrian street	Perfect weather during visit;sunny&not too hot
Poverty and crime problem.many street beggers	Scenery looks like Croatia or Greece	Sebastien Grosjean was born in Marseille in 1978	Setting for film The French Connection
Show-off!	The red item in the bakery window was a mystery	Town situated on cliffs so only manmade sand beach	Train station has impressive site on hill
Two subway lines, some trams, mainly busses	View towards hotel from train station	Went swimming in the extremely rough waters
