Where I stayed
Got off to another early start this morning (yay!) and off to the park we go. We got about a kilometre into the park and encounter a traffic jam. Someone decided to stop in the middle of the road, park their car in the middle of the road, and wander off down to the river to take a picture of a swan. :-/
The scenery this morning was fantastic. We stopped at most turnouts and have pictures of mountains, rivers, plains, elk, bison, stream vents, waterfalls, mud volcanoes, and geysers and we even saw Old Faithful do her thing. Although, the comments from the rednecks behind us were a little annoying, although I did find it humourous when he was going to throw a stick of TNT into the geyser because he was tired of waiting. Not sure if he had a stick of TNT in his trailer, but I wouldn't be surprised if he did.
We also walked into Castle Gesyer just as it was ready to erupt and it only goes off every 13 hours. After that we wandered over to see the Dragon's Mouth spring, but that was kiboshed when a couple of wild buffalo decided they wanted to walk on the path, and whom am I to tell them no. :-/
The one thing I can still smell 6 hours later is the sulfur and it makes the taste of everything a little off.
