Well I arrived safely in Germany! The Air Transat flight was good, except for the large guy beside me who took over half my seat.
I had to take a train and then a bus to get to Oestrich-Winkel. I met a fellow U of C'er, Grant Young, on the bus and we got along really well. We missed the welcome dinner, so we went hunting for a restaurant, and guess what, most restaurants are closed on Sundays! Who knew?! The only place open was a place we decided to call "Gangsta's Paradise"....we ate alongside two long-haired bikers and their huge polar-bear sized white German Shepard, G.I. Joe who had both arms in casts, a woman with spiky hair from Flashdance, and the bartender who looked like Danny DeVito. This is going to be a fun adventure - I can tell already!
