Today Andrew has to go to work and so I hang out with Christina. After doing some errands around town we stop by Andrew’s office to have lunch with him while Christina goes to her spa appointment. Andrew’s boss from the home office is coming to town tomorrow to review the progress towards the opening of the Belgrade office. All is well but the stress of all the projects is obvious. After lunch I hang out at Andrew’s office so I can use the wireless internet connection

Andrew just hired a secretary and today is her first day. She is a bit stressed too as she has returned from the home office where she underwent extensive training and is overwhelmed with info. Today is her actual first day at the office with Andrew and I’m sure she wants to make a good first day impression. Andrew introduces me to her and explains I am traveling around the world.

Christina picks Alexander up from school and stops by Andrew's office to pick me up. She gets to meet Andrew’s secretary and give her the wifely inspection… Christina and I decide to have a coffee at a place close to Andrew’s office. Once finished, we go to fetch the car and to our surprise find it is... GONE!!!!!

Holy Cow!!!!! The car is really gone! I figured Christina just forgot where she parked the car (as it happened yesterday) but she is sure the car is gone. I go back to Andrew’s building reception desk where I have been informed the car has indeed been TOWED away as it was illegally parked. I’m given a phone number where to call and find out where the car has been towed. Christina’s Serbian is not too developed and mine is nil. I don’t want to bother Andrew about this cuz he’s already under a lot of stress from work but I decide to go back to his office and asked his secretary for help. Imagine, I just met her and have to ask her not to bother him but to help me call the tow service and find out where the car is.. Andrew comes out of his office and Alexander spills the beans!!! While Andrew suspected there was something going on I did not want to tell him. Too late!!!

Now off we go to find the car! We take a cab to the tow service office on one side of town to find out that the car is actually in another location on the opposite end of town. Not knowing the towing fee Christina goes to the ATM to take a good chunk of cash and I leave my nettop and any other valuables at Andrew’s office in case the folks at the tow service decide they like them…  You never know…

We get to the tow service parking lot and spot the car right away. There’s a short line to pay and we encountered a guy who was furious with the tow service and the police because the fine is quite high for Belgrade’s living standards. Once of the guys on the line began to talk to us in Spanish. Christina explains many Serbians watch Venezuelan soap operas (novelas) that have not been dubbed and have learned Spanish that way. The power of television… GO figure!

We finally pay and get the car and get the heck away from that parking lot and go pick Andrew from the office. Yes! It took that long! We get back home where Christina cooks while I help Alexander with his Math homework from school. Go for a walk with Andrew around the neighborhood. End of that day! Quite the experience for me!
