Have arrived in Arras.  Don't know if its' my imagination or not, but there is a different
feel here in Flanders vs Normandy.  Will be visiting the Vimy memorial and the pipers'
memorial to-morrow.

Stopped  in Dieppe to-day and dippeed my Essex Scottish cap badge in the surf on
the beach there to sanctify it.  Cy will be impressed.

It is a very sad & moving thing to visit all the war grave sites.

Have taken over 300 pix so far!

The question of the day:

Why do the stop signs here in France say 'STOP' and not 'Arret'??????????????????
