Day 2 & 3 of 14: The drive through Oregon was nice and easy (approx. 6 hr drive). We stayed in a hotel in downtown Portland. I was glad to have the hubs drive with all the one-way streets in the downtown area. The people we encountered in Portland were nice in comparison to other cities we stopped off in Oregon. Of course we had to make a stop at Voodoo Donuts. The line was kind of long, but not a big deal. The best part of our visit in Portland was our day trip to the Columbia River. We visited some beautiful vistas (Women's Forum, Vista Home, & Sherrad Viewpoint) and then made the short trip to the nearby waterfalls. All were breathtaking in their own way and I couldn't get enough pictures. We only visited the easily accessible falls (Latourell, Shepperds Dell, Wahkeena, & Multnomah), but if you have the time and are in the mood to hike you might want to check out the others along the river.
