Usually I boycott Valentine's Day, but this year was different from most other years.  My son invited me to go to church with him, the celebration service which pays tribute to the graduating airman.

You know your in emotional trouble when you are greeted at the door with an offering of a box of Kleenex.  I have to say I would have thought by now I would be all out of tears but within moments after I sat down and heard the first worship song, well, nothing could stop the tears from falling.  I have attached the song....be forewarned-if you put yourself in my boots for a moment, you may want to grab a tissue.  A powerful song..........

The church service was well attended, nearly 800 soldiers from Week 1-7 and of course the graduating airman attending their last service at the BMT church before being shipped to their next station.  Kyle will remain in San Antonio for 13 weeks of technical school.  One of the goals of basic training is to strip these boys of their individuality and bring them back together as a team, as wingmen.
Watching row after row of soldiers embracing each other arm over arm knowing the soldier next to him may save his life one day exhibited the true meaning for Valentines Day to me.  The camaraderie in the room brought love to my own heart.  What a memorable day!!
