A business trip for Jane lead to a one-month stay in the US for her and two weeks for Russ. The agenda was enough to make our heads spin. New Jersey, North Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Ohio, Illinois, back to Ohio and then back to Newark. Rhode Island was supposed to be in the mix for Mumbi's graduation but a big storm cancelled flights. On the personal side, some memorable moments of the trip included The Bourbon Street Blues Festival in Califon and the frenzy of yard work Russ started at the Dempsey family abode in Florida. On the business side, other than too many people, places and airports to keep it all straight, Jane had a very long road trip with Alex from North Carolina to Alabama with a side trip through the tourist meca of Pigeon Forge, and a 3 hour tour of Chicago highlights including the view from the top of the Hancock Tower and deep dish pizza. The song Red Solo Cup turned up over and over during the trip and became the theme song. The end of the trip was to pick up Jane’s mother from New Jersey for the start of her trip to Manila. But that’s a topic for the next story.
