People are still trying to recover from one storm and now another is on it's way.  This one is a category 4 typhoon with a track toward Northern Luzon. That means we probably won't get hit too directly unless something changes but looking at the radar map the storm is pretty large with lots of bands of rain and wind.  The US Embassy sent out an email warning us that there are actually 3 potential typhoons heading our way.  Should be another interesting weekend. How appropriate that Vanguard chose today to send an email asking me to designate my beneficiary on my 401K.

While we wait for this one to blow in the relief effort is taking place for the last one.  Rescue was slow to come and so is the relief. The newspaper this morning was saying that people are fighting over the food that is being brought to the affected areas. Not enough food and not fast enough. There have also been lots of stories and editorials about how badly the rescue was handled, how little equipment there was to get to the people who needed help and the horrible conditions of the evacuation centers. This all sounds a little familiar - Katrina?

Our company has been announcing programs to help the employees recover from the damages and get back on their feet.  At this point all of them have been contacted and only a couple have not reported back to work yet. Maybe if these next storms miss us things will slowly get back to normal.
