Left Bendigo at daybreak for the 5 hour run to Narrandera. A lot of barren land, but where there were people, were amazed at the roses. Stopped at a cheese farm, crossed the famous Murray river that dominates this region, and saw a lot of irrigation. Believe it or not they are growing rice. Right now they have the water, but the campground owner confirmed it was a contentious issue, flooding rice paddies in a desert! We saw lots of remains from Kangaroos (likely more than a dozen), but no live ones. We are told there are more ‘roos than people in Australia, but wont likely see them till after dark, then they jump right out in front of you. Wait till Dobbo zoo. They day started freezing, but has warmed up, and this afternoon we were looking for shade. Jewel has a wash out hanging, corn on the cob boiling followed by Pasta with tomato sauce. Better get this off. We miss you all

Which way was the Murray River flowing? Down from the mountains on your right - the east to the west?
