1st order of business, get my bus ticket to Krakow, after that it was off to the baths which is on the to do list for almost everybody. You have your choice of baths, but the frequented one seems to be the Szechenyi baths in the north of the city by the city park. It was alright, thermal pools and 2 outdoor swimming pools in operation at this time of the year. A good soak in the tubs, and while you're supposed to alternate between hot, cold and warm, I preferred staying in the 38C ones. The warm outdoor pool was especially nice, and good contrast to the light breeze in the air.

Had another langos (this one recommended by Betti) right next to the spa for lunch and off on a walk down Andrassy Ave back to the river to work off that langos, which was not as heavy as yesterday's and a little less oily if that's possible.  Andrassy was not quite the shopping street I expected.  The section right by Hero's Square is lined with beautiful buildings almost reminiscent of the west side (think Shaunghnessy but grander). Continuing on are several museums including the Museum of Korean Art and the House of Terror. Shopping-wise, there's a few higher end shops, but your better bet is Fashion Avenue running parallel to the river.

I turned off at the synagogue to check it out. The images on one postcard were quite beautiful, and honestly that's really all you see, so the 8 euro entrance ticket is quite steep.  Having seen so many churches and basilicas though, it was interesting to visit a synagogue for a change.

Later that afternoon, I wandered out towards Margit Island (in the Danube) about a half hour walk away.  Perhaps energy is catching up to me, and finally leaving me as I didn't quite make it onto the island, only the bridge. Nice view though and had an interesting exploration of the area just off Margit bridge on the Pest side.

In the afternoon, perhaps the perfect sendoff, I met up with a friend and some new friends to do the Danube sightseeing tour at 8pm. It really was the perfect time as the lights were starting to come on. We also had 50% off coupons, so the hour long ride/tour with audio guide and a free drink (Can of pop) came to only 5 euro. Great last moments in Budapest as it will be off to Krakow bright and early in the morning.
