Despite is being a bank holiday here Chris had to go to work, although fortunately it was only for the morning.

I met him in town at lunchtime and we hopped on a bus to Bondi Beach.

Stopped for a hearty lunch and glass of vino (it was a bank holiday after all) at the Moo Gourmet Burger bar (a lot like GBK back home), before setting off on foot to Coogee.

The coastal walk from Bondi to Coogee took us past several beautiful beaches, including Bronte, Clovelly and Gordons Bay. Most of the bays had open salt water pools built into them, and although it was quite chilly there were quite a lot of swimmers in them, and loads of surfers in the sea - must be rammed in the summertime.

We arrived in Coogee just as the sun was setting over the bay. Then hopped back on the bus back to Balmain and had a very leisurely evening watching 6 episodes of Californication back to back as Becks and Harry had highly recommended it - you're right guys, very addictive!

All in all a pretty bonza bank holiday - thanks Mrs Queen, I suppose.
