Our final 2 days, thursday and friday we spent in the Hawkes Bay region. The main town is Napier. This town was completely destroyed by an earthquake in 1920's so it was rebuilt with a lot of building resembling that era - hence its name the art deco city.
We weren't that impressed - it was looking a bit shabby and unless you looked upwards to see the tops of building you really couldn't tell.
But we had a much better time on the friday going round the wineries. Nicola did the driving and Paul got drunk. We went to 4 wineries and at each we both got 4 or 5 glasses of wine. So Nicola took a sip and Paul had the rest - he was sozzled!!!
