It is a strange feeling to enter a country without knowing anything about it. What is the political situation? How is the economy? What is the currency? How much money do you spend in four hours?
After meeting a friendly gentleman who adviced us (the very stupid tourists) about these basic things we headed to Manila City. We learned that the armed policemen are everywhere, and people seem to follow rules and orders as if they were afraid. Queues in front of the American and Japanese embassies are looong. Economy is obviously rising, but everything is very cheap (cheaper than Thailand), so it is hard to get rid of all the pesos. The city is full of flowers - except for the orchid garden, which was rather green (and dissappointing).
Thanks KLM!
