After the near-riot at the airport at Chongqing, the flight to Xian was uneventful.
Xian is cleaner, more attractive, more exciting than Chongqing. It is in a plains/plateau type area, and the farms there appear to more like at home with larger fields. There are also orchards sprinkled throughout the farms.
Our hotels throughout have been decent, western style hotels, with toilets that have seats. Our hotel in Xian was not exception: it was good quality, within walking distance of the city wall and city core. Our room looked out onto the dirty backs of buildings, but off in the distance we could see the government centre and a square where people exercised every morning.
I liked Xian. Might even go back sometime to see Xian (and Hangzhou).
