We wake up to a rainy morning and cross the little open courtyard to the breakfast room.  It's classy and the food's good, but we decide to check out and find somewhere closer to Market Square,

The city looks just as cool in daylight - canals, medieval buildings, outdoor cafes, museums, etc.  We drag our luggage down the little courtyard (it used to be a driveway, I think) and outside where we jam it into the back of the car we parked on the sidewalk.

It is only a short way to the town center and the clock tower, and we find another hotel that is across the road from the clock tower building - Martin's Brugge. There is absolutely nowhere to park around there on the narrow streets, so I run in while the others drive around the block.  It is an American style hotel and even though it is in a prime location, it is significantly cheaper than the last hotel.  After registration, we drive around the block and to the underground parkade, then haul all our stuff up to the rooms.  We are excited to get exploring the city center, and first on the list is Market square, just few steps from our hotel.
