Where I stayed
Jamie--We took it easy this morning, catching up on sleep and rest. After we arrived in Billings last night, Joan and I went to the grocery to get some food and a cheap cooler so we could save a little money on food. So we will use my rental car as a "chuck wagon" for the trip. We traveled from Billings to Cody in the afternoon (a little over 2 hr trip), and arrived about 4 in the afternoon. This leg of the trip was absolutely beautiful as we traveled from foothills to mountains. We took the trip slowly, stopping to take some pictures along the way.
We arrived in Cody in late afternoon, settled in to our hotel, then left for registration. The rest of the day we spent at the Holiday Inn (site of the convention). After dinner we went to the local Walmart to get a few necessary items for our room (laundry soap, FRUIT --see, I listened, Kate!-- and other items. Once we returned to the room we got laundry ready to be washed tomorrow morning. Maybe tomorrow we can explore the area more closely and share the flavor of this Western, but artsy, town.
Joan -- We had a nice relaxing ride to Cody today. We decided not to go through the Beartooth Pass and do it later in the week... we were just to tired. While we were still at the hotel in Billings, Ty noticed that the reflector around my HID lamp had popped off and was resting inside the headlight assembly. She tried to open it up to get at it but the assembly was sealed with silicone. I think it will be a warranty fix. I need to find a dealer to do an oil change and check the wobble in the steering.
We had a great room and it was really nice to relax for the morning. It's only a short trip to Cody. Sure is a pretty ride for most of it. We stopped and took some pictures along the road. Lots of ranches... big ranches. They need to be. A lot of the land is not very green. I'm looking forward to seeing my Motor Maid friends when we arrive in Cody.

and do tell us what happens at a motorcycle convention beyond a bunch of women staring at each other's bikes!
Wow! I looked at the whole trip map, and realized that you really went a long way...Jamie, you made it half way; that ought to count for something! What a wonderful ride, in/on anything. I remember my trip across the northern tier, but didn't come down until Oregon...bet Wyoming is gorgeous! Have fun, ladies!
I am glad you are getting the chance to relax a bit now. I'm sure you're going to enjoy being at the convention and the sights/scenery....so much to take in! Looking forward to some more pictures! :)
Magnificent! Thanks for sharing the photos! Keep them coming!! :)
I'm glad you all made it to Cody safely. Now to relax a little bit and to enjoy the convention. I'm curious to know what happens at such a convention. Will be checking in to see your blog. The pictures are great. Jamie, where is you trike?? Will it be fixed by the time you return?? Keep the blogs coming! Thanks. Joyce
Looks like you are having a great time. I hope Jamie gets her trike fixed so I can ride it again. Be safe on your way home.
Gabby, I am having the trike fixed, just so you can have a nice ride once again!!!
