Bienvenido!

This morning we woke in Montevideo and had a 1pm Buquebus reserved for a direct ferry back to Buenos Aires!

We arranged for Eduardo to drive us from his B & B to the Port in Montevideo. Whenever this service is available, I choose it. I find it's far to convenient to overlook.

The ferry back was similar to our ride a couple days earlier. It seems the most popular seat are those near the window. Even though all you really see are the brown waters of the river basin.

For the rest of us without window seats, we're relegated to shopping in the duty free shop, purchasing some food in the cafeteria, reading or watching a replay of the Australian Open on tv (which is what we watched on the ferry to Montevideo).

Arriving back at Buenos Aires at the Buquebus Terminal presented us with our first accident of the holiday. While trying to retrieve our luggage after going through the security scanner, Elsie tore half her nail from her big toe. I didn't realize it until we arrived in the lobby of the terminal until I noticed the blood on her foot and pain in her face. If this had happened to a soccer player, they would've been rolling around the terminal floor grimacing in pain, making everyone around know they were near death. Fortunately, Elsie's not a soccer player! She's a tough Canadian!

Since there was no rush to leave the Buquebus terminal for the Ezeiza International Airport, we took the extra time to allow Elsie to assess her injury. Initially, it didn't look good. In fact, it looked ugly. The initial trauma resulted in a fair amount of blood. So, we rested for a while for the pain to succeed.

Once the initial trauma succeeded, we took a taxi to Ezeiza. Here we would wait nearly ten hours before our Aerolineas flight would depart for Auckland. The taxi dropped us off at Terminal B but all the services were in Terminal A, which is where we walked. But after an hour or so, this terminal didn't have much to offer so we walked to Terminal C, where our flight would depart and where wireless internet was available for free.

Our Aerolineas flight would not depart until 3am local time which meant we spent nearly ten hours at Ezeiza airport. This was not a record as we spent nearly 14 hours in Sao Paulo Airport back in 2005. Fortunately, we were flying business class cause the difference in cost between business and economy was so marginal when I booked a couple months ago, I would've been retarded not to book it! So, tonight we experience business class for the first time! Horaaaaay!

Adios Amigos! Rick & Elsie!
