A nice 2 day weekend in Mui Ne. We hired a taxi to take us from our home up to the beach. Took 5.5 hrs to get there and only 4.25 to return. A taxi is a bit more expensive but with a family of 5, much needed personal space and the opportunity to just go without schedules, it was right for us. Hotel was alright, obviously under some construction. It was a bit far from restaurants, shopping etc. We hired a taxi to take us to these areas but could be biked if you dare the traffic. For the hotel, the staff were ok. The grounds were quit nice. The rooms were average but at $$40/night, a good deal.
Mui Ne beaches are not world class, nothing like the white powder of Pensacola Beach, Florida, USA. Too much trash but interesting to walk the fishing areas and watch them work. Plenty of smelliness though. We didn't spend any time in the beach water and you should really wear shoes while walking on the beach. 2/3 kids cut their feet and it brought back memories of MERSA in Galveston, TX 1999. Yuk.
The sun was great! Too much probably.
We will definitely go back, not because we loved it but because it is relatively close, inexpensive and get away from HCMC.
