Football today at the Emirates Stadium, a very exciting stadium to visit .Graham and Carol had arranged our tickets for the match, and the four of us made our way to the venue. This involves a car ride of about 45 minutes ( depending on traffic of course ) , a ride on the tube and a walk to the stadium, but before we reach our final destination we partake in our usual healthy lunch first. Yes you must now be familiar with the Greasy Spoon cafe, the best place to have a meal, not good for your physical well being but fantastic for your mental well being, a real feel good meal. An order of chips, 2 eggs and bacon for Graham and I , add baked beans to that for Rick and Carol, all washed downs with a mug of tea or coffee. good stuff. When we have devoured our meal ,we visit the shop next door and buy chocolates to eat at half time. By now we feel like finely tuned athletes and attempt the walk to the Emirates, find our seats and gratefully sit down. Today we made the slightest detour , Rick had never seen the plaque with  Graham's name on it. It is all part and parcel of a big paved area. A lovely idea.
So finally we sat and waited for the game to begin. Arsenal played Southampton, who moved up from first division to the Premier League after last season. A full stadium once again , the majority Arsenal fans and the noise to match. It is just the most fantastic place to be and feel the excitement and anticipation of the game. The last 5 minutes before the game starts is the best, people just pouring into the stadium in a constant stream, all dressed  one way or the other in red  . Just love it.
Once the game starts the fans are in full voice and when Arsenal kicks a goal the place just goes beserk, of course we are just as bad and probably react louder than some. You cannot help but jump up, raise you arm and yell, followed up by frantic hand clapping. Once you have done all that it is all eyes to the big screen so you can watch the replay of the goal. Arsenal kicked 6 goals , yes that means 6 times doing all that and that is not counting the near misses, and you thought we were having fun, hard work more like it.
We were very happy bunnies after the game, all smiles and laughter.
A very special day today for both of us.
