Up early and ready to go this morning. We are lucky enough to catch the bus outside the caravan park that takes us to Edinburgh via Ocean Terminal, where the yacht is on display. Nice and easy. Arrived early enough to avoid the crowds and did not have to queue up before boarding the yacht. The whole display is very well done and provides easy access to everything. Good audio equipment is supplied and is very useful on the self guided tour. Rick and I just took our time looking through the yacht, which is most interesting to see. My favourite part was the engine room, neat as a pin and every bit of equipment is polished to the max. Considering it is an engine room , this must have been a huge task to keep it like that, which they do. The dining room was also very impressive but when you listen to the audio and they tell you that it takes 3 hours to set the table, every item placed exactly a certain distance from the next, they lost me. All I could visualise was, these so called honoured guests just sitting down and pushing some of the cutlery around a bit . Enough to make you lose it after all that effort. The visual images made me smile. We stopped our tour half way through to take refreshments on the yacht, nice hot coffee. 2 hours later we caught the number 22 bus into the city and hopped off in the city centre. We decided just to walk around today and enjoy the scenery. The city is very vibrant and buzzing at the moment, due to the festival held here.Lots of street entertainment going on and little market stalls everywhere. Nice atmosphere. The Castle dominates the skyline, still as grand as ever. We will visit the castle tomorrow morning. We stopped and watched a lot of the street entertainment , one was a Aussie juggler who was just great and very funny as well, he deserved every penny offered. After walking from the castle road, along what is called the " royal mile " we came across another street entertainer, who was just fantastic and had a very captive audience. All this street entertainment took up most of our time there as well, a great way to spend some time in Edinburgh. Getting late by now and time to catch the bus back home. Lots more to discover tomorrow and taking a further look at Edinburgh.
Great day and looking forward very much to tomorrow.
