Yes 2 days into one today. Paid 5 pound for internet access last night and due to poor reception could not get any internet. Tried to get our money back this morning but the office did not open till 9.30am by which time we had to catch the ferry to Calais.
Left Chelmsford Thursday morning. A little sad to say bye bye to our hosts Carol and Graham but we will meet up again in a couple of months time. Still cold and drizzly but we are getting used to it and take it all in our stride. At about 10.30am we were on our way to Dover. We stopped on the way in a place called Canterbury, we have always meant to stop there the few occasions we have been there but it was always raining. Hunger got the better of us,so off the freeway and into Canterbury. Decided to visit the ruins of St Augustine's Abbey. a very interesting place . St Augustine came to England to introduce christianity to England . All this happened  in the year 500 and something. Lots of history to soak up and very historic as well. We really enjoyed our audio tour around the ruins and were glad we stopped for a look.
Next job, lunch. Not a lot to choose from in the area , but saw a sign outside this old building and were game enough to give it a try. What a surprise awaited us when we walked inside, the Greasy Spoon it is not but by golly it came a very close second. Most of the university students go there, cheap and cheerful and very, very tasty. Had a lovely breakfast meal, egg, chips and bacon, hot steaming tea and coffee and lots of toast. all this for 8 pounds for the two of us. Not bad going.
Tummies full and on our way to take Charlie to a caravan park close to the ferry terminal.Basil
Garmin directed us to there with the greatest of ease. Made ourselves comfortable for the night, switched on the heater and were as snug as a bug.
Today we had to catch the ferry to Calais. All went smooth, got there just in time and did not have to wait too long to board. P & O this time, not as good as Sea France was last year, but they have liquidated so we had no choice. It only takes an hour anyway.
Drove off the ferry and made our way to Zele, Belgium. Yes folks once again we find ourselves in Belgium, still boring, wet and cold. Went for a nice walk between showers. the park is pretty good and we should be comfortable for the night here.
Tomorrow we will drive to Holland.

Glad to know Charlie looks good and is keeping you well. I hope Willie that you did not forget to buy some chocolate whilst in Belgium!

Hi Graham, just wondering if you've heard from Rick and Will in the past week. 3 anxious offspring down here in Oz getting a little concerned with the silence.

Cheers
Stuart
