Have just posted yesterday's adventure because no internet last night Just click back one and all will be revealed Nice and easy start to our day. Woke early as per usual but took our time getting ready to head off towards Venice. Took the motorways this time even though once we crossed the border into Italy it would become a toll road. Soon crossed the border into Italy, the only way you know that is because they have this little sign on the side of the road with Italy on it. Came to the unmanned, automatic ( like everything else here) and asked each other what now. I took a good look to see what everyone else was doing so felt a little confident when we came to the gate. No need to worry, all was displayed in English, press the red button and grab the ticket, pay at the other end. That was not difficult either, put your ticket in the slot, the amount will come up, you can pay by card and presto the boom gate opens. Or cash will do the same job. Got the hang of that now.
the trip through the Italian Alps was simply stunning and hard to take your eyes on the road. The Alps were so high. A photo can never do it justice as they are so high and rugged looking. Loved every bit of it. Then all of a sudden the flat part appeared and the countryside looked like anywhere else in the world.Followed Basil Garmin's instructions to the campsite. We chose a small quiet park according to the brochure. It is not small and at the moment not very quiet. There are about 25 caravan parks along this peninsula because it is very close to Venice and right along the beach. that is another different scene, the beach stretches out for miles and people everywhere just sitting there under their shades. Could not believe it when I saw it. So many people crammed up into a space and for such a long way. As Rick says if we see more than a dozen people on our beaches we call it crowded. How spoiled we are.
Tomorrow we will try to get to Venice and have a look around. The weather has been so good lately, hope it stays that way.
Yes Graham once you have tasted a Zanoni ice cream nothing will ever taste as good.
A interesting and lovely sunny day
