Where I stayed
Camping Oberried
Left Boppard this morning, on the road again by 9am after consuming our usual bread rolls for breakfast. Cornflakes will never be good enough again.
We arranged to drive to Freiburg and stay in a camping ground 1.5km from the city. It was a three and a half hour trip to there so should be easy. All was good untill we arrived in the city itself. Although Basil Garmin was directing us there very well we came to a road block and that was the end of our security. We did not know where we were after that, drove around for a while trying to find our way but it was so very busy we got the hell out of there and found a country road. This will do we said better than the sh.........t we have just been in. Saw a sign with a caravan displayed on it, followed the sign and here we are in Oberried . I think this used to be an orchard as there are still a lot of fruit trees here. The park itself belongs to a dairy farmer who lives across the road and still runs the farm. The managers here are lovely people and very helpful. We had a drink in the bar before I was to cook tea, then another, then another and finally something to eat there.Talked to a few people, some german some dutch and an english couple as well. A lovely evening
This afternnon after all our hassles getting here , we realy needed to do some food shopping and off to Aldi's we went which is in the next village. Got all our bits , were told they we could not pay with our debit card so neended to find a ATM to get some cash. Not enough Euros in my purse. Finally found one, got same money out, back to Aldi's to pay for the shopping And you wonder why we had a few drinks. Not realy because here we are in the most beautiful country side you can imagine close to the Swiss border. Here for a few days I think.
