Good sleep last night as we did not wake until 7.30am, very late for us. Had some freshly baked baguettes for breakfast. You can order them the night before and by 8am they arrive at the park all crusty and fresh and very moorish. I ordered two but did not realise how long they were here, bigger than a french stick in Oz. Managed to work our way through one today , the other one will be coped with tomorrow. Upon advise from a Scotsman we drove to Cassel not knowing what to expect. As it turned out it is a lovely town with very unique architecture however typical for this region. This area is full of history relating to WW1 which we had a fair is idea about as it is not far from Dunkirk. Just walking along we came across an area called Mount Cassel, this area is as flat as a pancake but we found the biggest hill to climb once again. Mount Everest next, it will be a piece of cake for us. We did not realy know what we were looking at but came across a museum in the town so all was explained once we went in there. Had a good look around and saw lots of video footage of the war. A good couple of hours spend.
Next stop Berguess 18km from here and just as impressive. Most of the shops close here between 12 noon and 2pm and the town was lovely and quiet unless you wanted lunch which meant a big wait. Decided to have lunch in Charlie, after all we had to get through the rest of the baguettes and lots of cheese and ham as well. the coffee came after everyone went back to work. Great coffee they served too. We saw a chocolate shop in the town square so of course I had to buy some, bought 12 of them and after picking myself up of the floor when she told me the total cost I said merci and staggered out of there. This little purchase has taken care of ny total chocolate budget untill I am 95 years old. Rick was laughing like mad at the look of total shock on my face. Now I feel realy bad because I want to eat one but feel so bloody guilty if I do.One thing is for sure ,we are not sharing these with ANYBODY. We also stopped at the Hypermarket  and bought 4 bottles of red for a total cost of 7euros, hopefulloy not cheap and nasty but will let you know. there were lots of them on the shelves bu the local people didn't seem to pick them up that must tell us something eh.
On the road again tomorrow along with our chocolates  and cheap booze heading towards Antwerp area on our way to Holland to visit my cousin and family.
We had a lovely day today with lots of fun as well
