After only a short sleep on the train we got a taxi to the hotel we were at last week. We thought we would be able to wake somebody up and get some rest before our 24 hour bus journey to Laos this evening. Despite being told all through our time here about how early Vietnamese get up everywhere was dead. After a few fruitless efforts to wake someone by banging on the door we were forced to sit on the doorstep in the drizzle. After about 2 hours there was some activity at a hotel across the road. We checked into here and got some much needed shut-eye!
So, this evening at 1900hrs, we get the bus to Vientiane (Laos) for a 24 hour bus journey. Sounds like hell - I'll let you know.
